This booklet is divided into 4 short sections:

  1. Get Ready, Get Set -- Date

  2. Likely Meeting Places

  3. Home Dates

  4. Getting Better Acquainted

Excerpts

Here's a great idea for a whole series of dates. Begin a quest! Go all over town and taste test one of the following (or something else entirely):

  • Margaritas,

  • clam chowder,

  • hot fudge sundaes,

  • moo goo gai pan,

  • café mocha,

  • stuffed mushrooms,

  • chicken wings.

Keep notes and rate each establishment on overall quality, taste, service and size of serving. When you've completed your testing, write a letter to the winning restaurant or bar commending them.

Sultry Tip #3:

Feed each other. All those corny movie scenes wherein each partner teasingly feeds grapes into the mouth of the other don't even begin to tell the whole, sensual story. This really is a very friendly, nibbling activity. Laughter isn't required, but it does make a fine accompaniment!

Getting a Date

Women, listen up! Lots of men really appreciate it when you take the initiative and call them for a date. Not that they're ready to abdicate altogether. But they're flattered when you do the asking. Besides there's no reason why the males should always be the ones sticking their necks out.

To make it a little easier on your nerves, don't call it a "date." Try one of these low-key approaches:

  • It's been fun talking. Could we get together for a drink after work tomorrow? (in person or on the phone)

  • I want to hear the jazz band that's playing at the café. Would you be free to meet me there Saturday afternoon?

  • I just got a couple of free tickets to see the big game next Wednesday. Would you like to be my guest? (This is one time when it's OK to fib. You may have just bought the tickets that afternoon.)
